The Gameweek 7 deadline for [Fantasy Premier League](https://fplplayerstats.com/?ref=tacticalfootballanalysis.com) is on Saturday, 17 October at 11:00 am (UK time), with [Everton](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/everton/) versus [Chelsea](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/chelsea-tactical-analysis/) kicking things off at 12:30 pm.

Below are five things worth knowing before the deadline closes.

We look at fixtures, in-form players and teams, who needs transferring out, the differentials worth a look at, and who to captain.

## **FPL Gameweek 7 Fixtures**

[Tottenham Hotspur](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/tottenham-hotspur-news/), [Coventry City](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/coventry-city/) and [Bournemouth](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/bournemouth-news/) are heading into a good run of fixtures.

[Brighton & Hove Albion](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/brighton-hove-albion-tactical-analysis/) have [Liverpool](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/liverpool-news/) and [Manchester City](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/manchester-city-news/) away in GW8 and GW9\.

Does that mean we should sell or keep our Brighton assets?

GW7 is headlined by Manchester City hosting [Ipswich Town](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/ipswich-town-tactics/), but lineups are becoming harder to predict with European games in full swing.

Brighton versus [Crystal Palace](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/crystal-palace-predicition/), [Fulham](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/fulham-tactics/) versus [Hull City](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/hull-city-strengths-weakness/) and Tottenham versus Coventry City (on Monday night) are the other fixtures that stand out on paper.

## **In-Form Teams And Players For GW7**

Manchester City and Brighton are the two attacks to own, and [Pascal Groß](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/pascal-gross-scout-report-brighton-2026-2027-analysis-tactics/) is the in-form player in the game; at his price (£6.0m), he remains a must-own.

### [**Manchester City**](https://fplplayerstats.com/players/club/man-city?ref=tacticalfootballanalysis.com)

Six wins in six.

Sixteen goals scored, five conceded, three clean sheets.

They are the only 'perfect' side left in the league.

### [**Brighton & Hove Albion**](https://fplplayerstats.com/players/club/brighton?ref=tacticalfootballanalysis.com)

The best attack by the numbers.

League-high accumulated xG of 14.16.

27 big chances and 18 goals, plus four clean sheets.

### [**Arsenal**](https://fplplayerstats.com/players/club/arsenal?ref=tacticalfootballanalysis.com)

The defence to own (albeit with some shaky recent performances).

Just 4.65 xGC this season, comfortably the lowest in the league.

Teams with the most FPL points (Source: [FFHub](https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/?ref=tacticalfootballanalysis.com))

### [**Pascal Groß** ](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/pascal-gross-scout-report-brighton-2026-2027-analysis-tactics/)**£6.0m (MID)**

53 points, joint-top of the game.

Over GW4 to GW6 alone, he's accumulated 11 key passes, four big chances created, four assists and six goal involvements.

### [**Maxim De Cuyper**](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/maxim-de-cuyper/) **£5.1m (DEF)**

Also on 53 points: two goals, three assists and four clean sheets.

The most-bought player this week (over 520 000 transfers in).

### [**Erling Haaland**](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/erling-haaland-manchester-city/) **£15.6m (FWD)**

Six goals in six games.

More on him in the captaincy section.

### [**Thierno Barry**](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/thierno-barry/) **£5.7m (FWD)**

Over the last three gameweeks**,** he leads the league for shots (13, all inside the box) and has had nine big chances.

Two goals scored from 2.09 xG.

### [**Rayan Cherki**](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/rayan-cherki/) **£7.9m (MID)**

Four goals and two assists in 392 minutes, and one of City's primary routes to goal.

Minutes are a risk; he did start in Paris on Wednesday night and was substituted in the 46th minute.

## **FPL Underperformers Ahead Of GW7**

### [**Yoane Wissa**](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/yoane-wissa/) **£6.3m (FWD)**

I own him, and I'm planning to sell him.

One goal in six, and just four points across GW4 to GW6.

The underlying numbers have dried up, too.

[Newcastle United](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/newcastle-united-news/) are not creating, with only 70 shots and 12 big chances all season, with 8.08 xG.

They've also conceded 13 goals.

With [Aston Villa](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/aston-villa-strengths-weakness/) (H), Crystal Palace (A), Everton (H), Fulham (A), Arsenal (H) and Brighton (A) in the next six, they do not inspire me with much confidence.

**Yoanne Wissa Replacements For GW7:**

Thierno Barry (£5.7m): 13 shots, 9 big chances, 2 goals in the last 3 GWs.

[Dominic Calvert-Lewin](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/dominic-calvert-lewin/) (£6.0m): 5 shots, 3 big chances, 1 goal in the last 3 GWs.

[Brian Brobbey](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/brian-brobbey/) (£5.7m): 5 shots, 3 big chances, 3 goals in the last 3 GWs.

### [**Bruno Fernandes**](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/bruno-fernandes-man-united/) **£11.9m (MID)**

The most-sold player of the week (over 360 000 transfers out).

In the last three gameweeks, he's managed five shots, one on target, 0.33 xG and no goal involvements.

Not great at his premium price.

And with [Leeds United](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/leeds-united/) (A) in GW7, they're no gimme either.

Selling him will free up the cash for midfield alternatives like Pascal Groß, Rayan Cherki, [Cole Palmer](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/cole-palmer/) or [Bukayo Saka](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/bukayo-saka-arsenal/).

### [**Dominik Szoboszlai**](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/dominik-szoboszlai/) **£6.9m (MID)**

The second most-sold player this week (over 360 000 transfers out).

FPL managers were hopeful after his eight-pointer in GW1 against Newcastle.

But since then, he has managed just 12 points across GW2 to GW5 and missed GW6 with a hamstring problem.

The case for holding is his set-piece duties: he's first choice for penalties, direct free kicks and corners.

But even with all of that, he's produced only 2.24 xGI all season (0.46 per 90).

## **Differentials For FPL Gameweek 7**

### [**Gonzalo García**](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/gonzalo-garcia-scout-report/) **(FUL, £6.1m, 7.2%)**

One goal from 3.00 xG, and five straight two-pointers since GW1.

He's on penalties, and Fulham's next four are Hull City (H), Coventry City (A), Aston Villa (A) and Newcastle (H).

### [**Luka Vušković**](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/luka-vuskovic-scout-report/) **(BHA, £5.1m, 4.8%)**

Three clean sheets in a row and 34 points over his last four games, with his DEFCONs climbing every week (9, 12, 15 over the last three).

Crystal Palace (H) this week, and Brighton's run from GW10 makes him more than a one-week punt; just bench him for Liverpool and Manchester City away.

### [**Nicolas Jackson**](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/nicolas-jackson/) **(AVL, £6.6m, 3.1%)**

Two goals in just 376 minutes.

Aston Villa face Manchester City in GW8, but thereafter the fixtures ease up.

Fulham (H), Manchester United (A), [Sunderland](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/sunderland-strengths-weakness/) (H), Ipswich (A), Everton (H) and Crystal Palace (H) from GW9 to GW14.

Could be the classic case of jumping onto the asset early, while other FPL managers are scrambling to fit in their sides later down the line.

Honourable mention: [Jayden Bogle](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/jayden-bogle/) (LEE, £4.7m, 9.1%).

The top-scoring defender under 10% owned (43 points, two goals, four clean sheets), but with [Manchester United](https://tacticalfootballanalysis.com/tag/manchester-united-strengths-weakness/) at home this week, it makes him more of a pick in GW8.

## **Captaincy Pick For FPL GW7**

Captaincy matrix GW7 to GW12 (Source: [Rob T](https://x.com/robtFPL?ref=tacticalfootballanalysis.com))

### **Erling Haaland (MCI) Vs Ipswich Town (H)**

Erling Haaland has six goals from 4.82 xG, 22 shots (11 on target) and 10 big chances.

Ipswich are the only side besides Chelsea, Bournemouth and Manchester United yet to keep a clean sheet, and have conceded 12 goals from 10.79 xGC.

Triple captaincy perhaps?

### **Pascal Groß (BHA) Vs Crystal Palace (H)**

Crystal Palace have the worst defensive numbers in the league: 12.80 xGC and an expected clean sheet tally of just 0.89.

Pascal Groß is the creative hub of the team, and at 40% owned, he still offers a swing against the Erling Haaland crowd.

### **Bukayo Saka (ARS) Vs Nottingham Forest (A)**

Saka has blanked twice in a row, but the underlying numbers say that won't last: 2.82 xGI over the last three gameweeks for just 12 points, including 2.12 xG and four big chances for a single goal.

He is the first choice for penalties, and Forest have kept just one clean sheet this season.

## **The Bottom Line**

Erling Haaland looks like the best captaincy option by some margin this gameweek.

Stick with Brighton; Liverpool and Manchester City away are a two-week blip before a kind run from GW10.

Yoane Wissa and Bruno Fernandes are sells.

All the best for Gameweek 7!
